Hi, I'm Megan!
I began my journey with photography in August of 2023 with a camera and a dream. Expressing myself through photography has become a passion I never thought I'd find, but capturing other people's joy and memories has always been an important part of my life. I'm so grateful I get to share my love of photography with you.
My Journey
A little bit about myself: my name is Megan Barker, and I am a photographer specializing in portrait photography! I am a student at the University of Washington studying Communications, and I am looking to work in the sports industry. I am a photojournalist with The Daily newspaper and work in social media for the UW Dawg Pack. When I'm not taking photos, you'll find me playing guitar, reviewing movies on LetterBoxd, and playing the New York Times games. I am also an avid women's sports fan; hit me up if you ever want to go to a WNBA game!
I began portrait photography in August 2023. It was on a complete whim, with an initial photoshoot with some friends, but I received overwhelming support for my work, so I began to develop my portfolio. Working with different people, developing my skills, and building my self-confidence have all led me to where I am now. Going into my third year as a photographer, I could not be more grateful to have this passion become my work.
